Expect a deep dive - this initial session is all about you. During this time, we will go over health history and symptoms, discuss your current dietary patterns, address your primary health concerns and answer any questions you may have.

After your Initial visit, you will receive a comprehensive meal plan, which includes advice on therapeutic or functional foods, exciting meal suggestions, foods to avoid for your health concerns and goals, safe supplementation, and effective herbs and lifestyle suggestions to get you feeling your best.

Depending on your health goals, functional tests might be recommended. Through functional testing -stool, saliva, urine, hair sample - we may look at your current nutrient status, gut health, hormones, toxic load, genetics, Follow up visits can be anywhere from 2-6 weeks after your initial consult depending on the level of support needed. They are an opportunity to tweak and refine your existing plans and receive more support to keep you on the path to achieving vibrant optimal health and reaching your goals.

The most common tests we run are the DUTCH, GI MAP, OAT and hair mineral analysis.

DUTCH - extensive hormone test providing insight into hormonal imbalances. Symptoms of hormonal imbalances can include acne, premenstrual syndrome, mood issues, weight gain, poor energy.

GIMAP - This test provides a comprehensive analysis of what is happening in your gut. It will detect parasites, yeast and bacteria that could be causing digestive issues as well as symptoms relating to mood, poor energy, skin, weight gain/loss, thyroid and hormonal imbalances.

OAT - The Organic Acids Tests provides a comprehensive nutritional and metabolic snapshot of an individual’s overall health. The results can provide insight into important areas related to gut health, neurotransmitter status (brain health!), mold exposure, detoxification capacity and nutritional status.

Hair Mineral Analysis - Assesses the levels of minerals and heavy metals in the body. This test can be helpful for those suffering from thyroid issues, unexplained infertility, hormonal imbalances, peri/menopause symptoms, migraines, fatigue and more

Absolutely! We can help to ensure your body is getting what it needs so you are supported during this transition. The focus is on supporting brain, bone and cardiovascular health as well as alleviating symptoms through diet, supplements and nervous system regulation techniques.

Yes! A hormonal imbalance can impact many areas of health such as mood issues, acne, weight gain, irregular periods, infertility and more. Diet and lifestyle play a significant role in hormone heath. We will look at your symptoms for clues and recommend testing when appropriate. There are many reasons for hormone imbalances including sluggish detoxification, high sugar diet, stress, low fibre, nutrient deficiencies and more - all of which can be addressed through nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Yes, we see women of all ages. You can start seeing a holistic nutritionist if you have symptoms you want to address such as digestive complaints, mood issues, fatigue, weight gain etc. Or perhaps you have seen a doctor about your symptoms and all lab tests have come back 'normal' and you're looking for someone to uncover the root cause of your issues and to support you throughout the process. We also see women who want to take better care of themselves and are just looking for some advice on how to do that.

We generally don't provide strict meal plans but rather advice on foods to include or reduce (and why!) as well as plenty of meal ideas and recipes to help you achieve your goals. Meal plans can be difficult to stick to but when we provide flexibility and give some control to the client we find they are empowered to stay with a program.

Yes! Research has shown that reducing sugar and adopting a high-fibre, lean protein diet including oily fish and plenty of fruit and vegetables can significantly help with symptoms associated with PCOS. Supplementation can also be very beneficial depending on symptoms.

An individualized approach is taken with each client based on their health history and personal goals. The main considerations when working on a plan are food likes/dislikes, time constraints, what foods they have access to and any other obstacles that have been presented.

Depends on the issue and the person! Some clients will see results in a week or two, others will take longer than that. Healing is a journey and it's not always linear so the emphasis is always on the long game.

No, the focus is mainly on food and supplements are only used as needed. However, when a deficiency is present it is much easier to get to baseline with a supplement and once baseline is achieved we can maintain a healthy status with food.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a condition similar to Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) but more serious and debilitating. Studies have shown that those suffering with PMDD (and PMS) respond differently to surges in estrogen. When working with PMDD, the focus is on reducing inflammation levels and optimizing digestion and detoxification through dietary interventions. Lab testing and targeted supplementation may be required. Chronic stress, poor sleep and a sedentary lifestyle can also be contributing factors to premenstrual symptoms. Tools to address these lifestyle factors will also be part of any plan.
