ABOUT THIS ONLINE CLASS
Understanding the connected world of kids and teens can be challenging for parents.
While the internet can be a valuable resource for our kids - it can also be a difficult and sometimes scary space to navigate. Ensuring both you and your kiddos have the tools needed to use social media and the online space safely and securely is important to help minimize negative experiences and maximize the positive opportunities that social media has to offer.
Join wellbe’s Social Workers, Rachel Jessome and Rosalyn Totah, as they discuss the following topics:
Strategies for opening the dialogue about internet safety with your children
Red flags to look out for when conversing with others online
Websites and apps that may be inappropriate for this age group
Navigating parental controls to limit specific usage
The impact of social media on the growing mind
This session is for BOTH parents and youth together.
Walk away from this session with a greater understanding of how to better communicate with your kids and teens, understand common issues, identify risks and establish good online rules.
