Jennie Withey

Social Worker and Psychotherapist, mama, and avid reader

there’s a reason why Jennie’s friends describe her as “sunshine and bubbles”—she’s the kind of person who leaves you feeling warm and wonderful inside.

Her calm, patient and caring demeanor combined with her witty sense of humour and empathic nature are what make her such an excellent psychotherapist and social worker—one who is incredibly easy to talk to and who will provide a compassionate and non-judgemental space for any challenge.

Then there’s, of course, her credentials: A masters degree in social work and additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, solution-focused therapy and psychodynamic therapy. This has led Jennie to use an integrative approach to psychotherapy, blending various modalities to suit the individual client.  In her practice, Jennie genuinely welcomes all parts of her clients in therapy.

Jennie specializes in working with complex trauma. The impacts of abuse and neglect are wide-ranging and pervasive and require a paced and integrative approach in therapy.

Jennie comes from a stance of cultural humility in her practice, acknowledging the intersectionality of her clients' identities and welcoming all forms of difference and diversity. It never ceases to amaze Jennie how resilient human beings are.
